Tangled Webs - Opera Concert

Posted on behalf of Worth Parish

Trained singers from London’s City Lit Opera School will be delighting audiences in Crawley this April as they perform a free Opera concert at St Nicholas’ Church, Worth.

Presenting scenes from Delibes's Lakmé, Mozart's Cosí fan tutte and La clemenza di Tito, Handel's Giulio Cesare, Nino Rota's I due timidi, and Gilbert & Sullivan, The Gondoliers, the concert in the 11th oldest church in the country, promises to be a rare treat.

To ensure the concert is accessible to all, Rector Fr. Michael Boag has said it will be free, but suggested donations of £5 or more from those who can afford it, would be most welcomed towards the cost of hosting and providing refreshments.

City Lit Opera School trains both those applying to conservatoires and those entering the profession. Participants come from a range of backgrounds and experience: those moving from an undergraduate course, those who are returning to performing, and those who are exploring their potential.
