Time to Listen - Tilgate Forest GC 1:30-4:30pm

Posted on behalf of England Golf

England Golf recommends that all Golf Clubs should appoint and train a Club Welfare Officer (CWO). As part of their training England Golf recommends that the Club Welfare Officer attends the Time To Listen Workshop.

This workshop builds on basic safeguarding awareness and focuses on implementation in the club environment. It also gives individuals an opportunity to discuss specific issues, challenges and good practice in a friendly environment.

Time to Listen is a 3 hour course, developed by the NSPCC Child Protection in Sport Unit, aimed specifically at the Club Welfare Officer. (CWOs must have attended a Safeguarding and Protecting Children workshop previously.)

The workshop will:

•Identify what a Club Welfare Officer does

•Describe how a Club Welfare Officer works with others to create a child-centred environment

•Explain how the Club Welfare Officer role fits into the wider safeguarding environment

•Apply learning to case studies including sharing good safeguarding practice
